A french toast christmas tree is the perfect breakfast for the Christmas holidays. Not only is it easy to make, but more importantly, it tastes amazinggg. Cinnamon, vanilla, browned butter and sweet maple syrup on a french toast that’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It doesn’t get any better than this.

Ingredients
french toast
  • 8slices toast breador brioche
  • 2medium organic eggs
  • 2/3cups milk
  • 1/2tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2tsp cinnamon
  • butter to fry
frosted cranberries
  • 1cup fresh cranberries
  • 1/2cup white sugar
  • 1/2cup water
  • white sugar for covering the cranberries
Instructions

  1. Cut out the toast in different sizes of stars. Either with cookie cutters or with a knife.
  2. In a bowl, mix milk, eggs, vanilla and cinnamon.
  3. Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat. Melt a little butter in the pan.
  4. Dip the toast stars completely in the milk and egg mixture. Drain briefly and then place in pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Flip and fry for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Starting with the largest star, arrange a “tree” on a plate. Serve the french toast christmas tree still warm with a little butter and maple syrup, honey or / and powdered sugar.

  1. Bring water and sugar to a boil in a saucepan. Simmer for approx. 5-8 minutes until the sugar dissolves and it starts to become a syrup consistency. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  2. Pour some refined sugar on a plate.
  3. Dip the cranberries completely in the sugar water. Drain and then roll in the sugar using a fork. Place on a baking sheet or plate lined with parchment paper. Let dry for at least one hour.
  4. The cranberries will keep in an open container for a week.
