confectioners sugarto sprinkle the sticks when baked
Add milk to a pot and make hot (don’t boil). Remove from stove. Add sugar, nuts and spices and stir until combined. Allow to cool for 10 minutes.
Preheat oven to 180C/365F.
Put one puff pastry on a baking sheet. Spread the nut filling evenly on the dough. Top with the second pastry and press down a little bit with you fingers.
Cut in stripes (1,5 cm) with a sharp knife or a pizza roller. Twist lengthwise. Put with a distance to each other on a baking sheet/baking tray. Brush with water or egg wash and sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake for about 18-20 min until golden.
Allow to cool to room temperature. Sprinkle with confectioner’s sugar. Store in an airtight container and eat within a week (they won’t last that long anyways ;-))
