These flaky puff pastry hazelnut sticks are ideal when things have to be done quickly. With just a few steps and ingredients you will have delicious treat for the afternoon coffee.

Ingredients
- 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp milk
- 1/3 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 1/4 cup grated hazelnuts
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cardamom optional
- 2 packages puff pastry á 240 g
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- confectioners sugar to sprinkle the sticks when baked

Instructions
- Add milk to a pot and make hot (don’t boil). Remove from stove. Add sugar, nuts and spices and stir until combined. Allow to cool for 10 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 180C/365F.
- Put one puff pastry on a baking sheet. Spread the nut filling evenly on the dough. Top with the second pastry and press down a little bit with you fingers.
- Cut in stripes (1,5 cm) with a sharp knife or a pizza roller. Twist lengthwise. Put with a distance to each other on a baking sheet/baking tray. Brush with water or egg wash and sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake for about 18-20 min until golden.
- Allow to cool to room temperature. Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar. Store in an airtight container and eat within a week (they won't last that long anyways ;-))
