One of my ABSOLUTE favorite desserts right now: double chocolate bean brownies. Not only are they super chocolatey and delicious, but they are also incredibly moist and much healthier than regular brownies.
These bean brownies are so good. Like SOOO GOOD!
To all skeptics: NO, you do not taste the beans. You really don’t. You taste chocolate and a hint of espresso.
So why on earth would you put beans in a chocolate cake? Oh, there are so many good reasons. 🙂
- They are a lot healthier than their original. Beans are high in protein and other good ingredients and low in fat.
- The brownies become incredibly moist because due to the legumes.
- The beans give them a great, full flavor and a really good texture.
Putting beans in brownies is, you realize, a pretty genius move. Chocolate for your soul AND some healthy stuff for your body. Yes, yes, YES!
As if that weren’t enough reasons to bake these double chocolate bean brownies right now, they have the added bonus of being insanely easy to prepare.
All the ingredients are put in a bowl at the same time, mixed with a hand mixer or in a food processor and then emptied into a baking dish. You don’t need a lot of utensils or time.
The double chocolate bean brownies taste really good on their own. But they are best with some cold whipped cream. No wait, they are the very best with whipped cream AND vanilla ice cream.
Off, off to the kitchen and
3…2…1… let the baking begin!
