This chocolate mousse is a dream come true:
no sweet chocolate, no refined sugar, no cream. And yet you see a creamy, incredibly delicious chocolate mousse in the photos.
OK, you don’t SEE that it’s reallyyy delicious. Unfortunately you can’t taste it either. But I guarantee you that this is a fact. My chocolate-loving friends put their seal on it.
Normally you would be able to make a fantastic mousse with the three ingredients i mentioned above. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like the original version, too. Like, I love it. Almost too much. I find it hard to stop dipping the spoon into the bowl over and over again.
What do the “original” and my version of chocolate mousse have in common?
- They are ultra creamy
- They are super chocolatey
- No one can say no to it
Hold on tight. The advantages of my version now go on. YAY!
- It is made without refined sugar, but is sweetened with honey (if you want to make it vegan, use for example date syrup).
- It is made without cream. The secret ingredient? Avocados. Yes, they are responsible for making the mousse unbeatably creamy. NO, you won’t taste them. However, the prerequisite for this is that you use ripe, soft avocados. Half ripe avocados cause small lumps and let the chocolate mousse taste a bit like meadow or grass. And we don’t want that taste in a chocolate mousse.
- The chocolate mousse is full of healthy fats, vitamins and minerals. The intense chocolaty flavor comes from the bitter cocoa powder aka the part of chocolate that is known to cause feelings of happiness.
Whoop. Whoop.
What I’m trying to say is: TRY IT. It simply tastes delicious.
